Size & Volume reduction is a critical function of virtually every recycling operation. In fact, getting material down to size in the most efficient, safe & economical way possible can often determine the success an operation enjoys. Industrial Shredding Systems Limited supply, support & maintains shredding systems from 56kW to 700kW to provide processing solutions in the broadest range of applications possible.
Industrial Shredding Systems Limited was launched in 1995 to satisfy the need for a growing demand for product recycling equipment. The company's visionary perception has proved 'spot-on' as environmental issues have taken the concept of recycling to ever increasing levels of importance across most sectors of industry including Medical Waste Processing, Skip and Waste Transfer industries, with waste as diverse as MSW, OBW, Tyres and C&D Waste and the metals industries, including E-Scrap as part of the new WEEE Directive. Industrial Shredding Systems Limited has steadily evolved into a major player in the UK and European shredding markets that specialise in the larger end of the product line which is particularly suitable to the Medical Waste industry. The standard shredder is 100 horsepower (75kW) which is more powerful than the average shredder plus ISS also provide an extensive product portfolio that goes up to 1200 horsepower (900kW).
Within a year of being formed, the company was appointed as the authorised UK representative for SSI Shredding Systems of America and since then they have concentrated solely on promoting the sales and installation of SSI's state of the art size reduction technology equipment. Gary Moore, Sales Director for Industrial Shredding Systems points out that shredders have developed out of all recognition over the years, catering for the market's ever changing needs adding "In the early stages we could just rough shred the product for landfill but now it has to be so much more refined for modern recycling purposes." Another major development for Industrial Shredding Systems Limited occurred in 2002 when they were also appointed as the European representatives for SSI and have subsequently completed installations in Portugal, Holland and Scandinavia.
